Lucia's album delayed?
1/28/03 - According to an email from Lucia, her album is now coming out in May. Also, she confirms that some of the material she worked on with Sascha will be making it onto the album. Thanks to Boris for the info.
Fake Sascha.
1/28/03 - Here you can find the website of Michael J. Carrasquillo, the guy who played drums on last year's Slick Idiot tour. The website is mostly about his solo work, but you can find a few interesting photos in the pics section, including one of the infamous "Fake Sascha" that appeared at a couple of Slick Idiot shows.
New Pigface album released.
1/28/03 - The new Pigface album, Easy Listening...for Diffucult Fuckheads, hits the shelves today. It features En Esch doing vocals on one track. You can order it from the Invisible Records website.
New Manson album finished.
1/28/03 - According to his online journal, Marilyn Manson & co. have finished mixing The Golden Age of Grotesque. They're aiming for a spring release. A tour, the "Grotesk Burlesk", will follow. Thanks to MaR for the heads up.
KMFDM @ E3.
1/27/03 - This is actually old news, but I figured I mention it here to remind people. KMFDM is tentatively playing a show on May 21 at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in L.A. E3 is more or less the annual video game industry trade show, so you'll probably have to have some kind of connection to the video game industry to get in to the concert.
Slick Idiot ad in Outburn.
1/24/03 - In the current issue of Outburn magazine (the one with AFI on the cover), there's a full page ad for the Cleopatra rerelease of Slick Idiot's Dicknity album. If that's not reason enough to buy the magazine, I will mention that it also features some pictures of Al Jourgenson looking very, very fat.
Pig song on new compilation.
1/23/03 - The Pig song "Prime Evil", previously unreleased in the US, will be featured on the "Critical Mass Volume 4" compilation album from Metropolis Records. You can see the tracklisting and cover art here.
Bill Rieflin journal update.
1/23/03 - Bill Rieflin has updated his online journal. In it, he mentions working on a vocal track that Sascha's done for WWIII. Not big news, though he does say that "It's a goodie, for sure - among his best".
The Ultra Heavy Beat opens.
1/23/03 - Welcome to the Ultra Heavy Beat, your source for news on KMFDM and related bands. Why did I start this webpage? Because aside from the rarely updated official site, there's no real source of KMFDM news on the internet. There are tons of little KMFDM-related news tidbits here and there that go unnoticed because they're scattered across dozens of websites. My daily routine usually includes scouring the web for these tidbits, so I figured I might as well make a website to post them to. This way, there's a place for fans to go to get comprehensive news without having to sift though countless newsgroups, webforums, and online diarys.
As for the website itself, it's just going to be a barebones news site. Aside from the newspage itself, the only other pages will be info pages on upcoming albums, which can be accessed through the above table. There are already plenty of great sites full of lyrics and pictures and whatnot; The Ultra Heavy Beat is strictly for news and info.
All this being said, I sincerely hope you enjoy this website.
Regards,
Josh Hammonds
