Lucia Cifarelli - From the Land of Volcanos
Release Date: Released! Order it here!
This is the long, long, long awaited solo album from mdfmk/KMFDM's leading lady, Lucia Cifarelli. It was begun waaaaay back in 2000, though much of the material written then ended up as Schwein and KMFDM songs. Currently, no one has any idea what this thing's going to sound like. We shouldn't have to wait too long to find out, though, as according to Lucia this will be hitting the shelves on March 18 (it should be noted, however, that on the Universal Records website they don't have her album listed in the upcoming releases, despite another album coming out on March 18).
You can find the official website for Lucia's upcoming album here, though nothing is up yet.
UPDATE (2/13/03): You can now find a work in progress version of Lucia's official site here. There are song clips, pictures, and a short bio up. The tracklisting for "From the Land of Volcanos" is as follows:
So Clever
I Don't Care
Northern Star
Fear
Feels Like Summer
What You Become
We Are Angels
Who Asked You
I Will
Monkey Puzzle Tree
Little Rose
Ordinary Girl
UPDATE (2/26/03): Lucia's website now lists the album release date as May 15. Additionally, it appears that Sascha co-wrote a total of four songs for the album: "What You Become", "Who Asked You", "Little Rose", and "Ordinary Girl". Lyrics and production credits for the album can be found here.
UPDATE (6/29/03): Lucia has been dropped by Universal Records. The release of From the Land of Volcanos is up in the air. Lucia is currently shopping the album around to other labels.
UPDATE (6/18/04): From the Land of Volcanos was finally released this past May by The Control Group, an independent Seattle-based label. It's available for purchase at Lucia's online store and includes a KMFDM remix of "Monkey Puzzle Tree".
